The (UN)FOLD zine pulls together things that can and should(n’t) be folded, looking especially at the relationship between force and fold. Subjects can include everything: from paper airplanes, dumplings and personal relationships, to community efforts to resist political violence and unfold into space and story.
Email your submission to gullscommune@gmail.com by 30 September 2025 with a title, your name(s), and the piece itself.
The zine will be published in early winter. A launch event will be organised in Paris, Dublin and maybe elsewhere – details to be confirmed! The digital version will be free to read online. Limited print copies will be sold in aid of Médecins sans frontières.
GULLS Commune zines are self-published, informal, and any profits from the sale of print copies are donated to charity. The point of them is just to remind us to make things, share ourselves with others, and get together when we can.
All submissions are welcome, in any medium or language, as long as they mean something to you. If you’d like to collaborate with people, you can also submit something as a pair/group. Every submission will be included in the digital version, unless it’s obviously offensive. Depending on the quantity of submissions, the print version will either include all pieces or a selection of them if there is limited space.
