(UN)FOLD
The (UN)FOLD zine will pull together things that can and should(n't) be folded, looking especially at the relationship between force and fold. Subjects can include everything from paper airplanes, dumplings and skin to actions that attempt to conceal cultures, histories, and people — along with community efforts to resist and unfold into space and story.
All submissions are welcome, in any medium or language, as long as they mean something to you. Also: be kind! Email yours to gullscommune@gmail.com by 31 July 2025. The zine will be published in digital and print format sometime in early autumn.
-------------
The digital version will be free to read on this website. Limited print copies will be sold via an online shop, for collection in Paris or delivery elsewhere. The price will be set to cover print costs, with a mark-up to fundraise for Médecins Sans Frontières.
A launch event will be organised in Paris for September/October (date and location tbc).

This is the third GULLS Commune zine. Thank you billions to everyone who's helped make the last two happen: What Do You Return To? (2024) and Whale's Belly (2023).
GULLS Commune is a personal project of Julie Smirnova and friends, there's no funding or external organisations or anything involved. Anyone can submit — whether you know Julie & Co. or not!
